Wings Of Freedom Exhibition By Greater Action

Greater Action Art Gallery’s Annual Art Exhibition, Wings of Freedom, will take place on 21st - 28th February 2025 at Alliance Française de Kuala Lumpur.

• 21st - 23rd February: Special highlights and activities, including live performances, artist meet-and-greets, and interactive sessions.

• 24th - 28th February: Viewing only, with no additional activities.

This art exhibition is a powerful celebration of resilience, creativity, and hope. It aims to amplify the voices and stories of refugee women in Malaysia who, despite immense challenges, transform their experiences into compelling works of art. Each piece narrates a journey of struggle, survival, and the pursuit of belonging, offering a profound insight into their lives and aspirations.

More than an art showcase, this exhibition serves as a platform for connection and advocacy. It reflects Greater Action’s dedication to empowering these women through sustainable livelihood opportunities and fostering their self-expression. By sharing their artistry, they aspire to inspire understanding, solidarity, and meaningful action within our community.

The Wings Of Freedom exhibition will showcase:

• Upcycled Sustainable Fashion: Unique contemporary bags, accessories and home decor crafted by refugee artisans using innovative upcycling techniques that merge french design with sustainability.

• Impressive Artwork: Featuring visual art by 8 self-taught female refugee artists that reflects their journeys, talents, and cultural heritage.

• Workshops & Activities: Interactive & creative sessions where participants and children above 10 years old can engage with the artists & artisans  and learn about their unique  artistic   techniques.
