Le French Festival 2024 returned on 29 May, bringing with it an invigorating celebration of its core values: sport, family, and inclusivity.
This one-and-a-half-month celebration of French culture strived to bring both Malaysian and French cultures and people together.
For its 22nd edition, the festival offered an array of events and activities that captivated audiences of all ages and backgrounds, with
a special emphasis on sports, echoing the spirit of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Co-organized by the Alliances Françaises de Malaisie and the French Embassy in Malaysia, Le French Festival 2024 spanned from 29 May to 14 July, flowing through Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and finally Kuching.
The festival presented an eclectic mix of entertainment, catering to diverse interests. Whether you were passionate about cinema, digital art, photography, painting, music, dance, theatre, sport, or gastronomy, there was something for everyone amidst the festival's vibrant offerings.

Once again we are delighted to bring you the much anticipated Le French Festival, which will be celebrated throughout May to June in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru. Notably, this year marks the first time ever we set our foot in Kuching, Sarawak.
While reveling in this momentous occasion, we are also thrilled to announce that Alliance Française globally will celebrate its 140th anniversary. This year, Le French Festival will have many surprises in store for you for all ages, with our main highlight bringing you the best of recent French cinema releases.
The festival will also include the popular Fête de la Musique, as well as ‘art de vivre à la française’ where we can discover how French flavours can be combined with the rich and diverse Malaysian cuisine. Wishing you a lovely Le French Festival celebration.

events centred around the best contemporary French cinema, with films for every taste and every age.
Le French Festival is a true celebration of French culture and its ties with Malaysia. Specifically in Penang, this year’s programme includes a concert and a digital exhibition. We also invite you to join our French heritage walk to explore the many places on our island that are connected to France.
